Hongkong Independence Movement (HIM)
The Hongkong Independence Movement (HIM) advocates an independent Hong Kong and it pursues for the independence of Hong Kong.

Hongkongers are not Chinese, nor is Hong Kong a part of China. The fact that Beijing regime engulfed Hong Kong in 1997 is an illegal atrocity Beijing regime committed against the free will of Hongkongers.

The goal of the Hongkong Independence Movement is to establish the Republic of Hong Kong. The Republic of Hong Kong shall be of Hongkongers, by Hongkongers and for Hongkongers.

Date: July 9, 2004

1. Hongkong Independence Movement is striving to establish the Republic of Hong Kong by non-violent means and in a peaceful manner. Hongkong Independence Movement is against any forms of violence.

2. Chinese culture is the cultural assets of Hong Kong as well as the core of the culture of Hong Kong. The Republic of Hong Kong shall bring Hongkong-style Chinese language into full play.

3. Hong Kong was occupied and ruled by Japanese troops from 1941 to 1945. During the Japanese occupation period, plenty Hongkongers, women and men, young and old, were raped and slaughtered by the brutal Japanese soldiers. Recently, some suggested that Japanese language should be the offical language of the future Republic of Hong Kong. We believe that the suggestion is absolutely ridiculous and whoever has made such a suggestion is not a member or supporter of the Hongkong Independence Movement.

Ban on Arms Sales to Beijing Regime Continues

Date: March 2, 2004

It comes to our attention that member states of the European Union like France and Germany put forth a bill to suggest lifting the ban on weapon sales to China by European countries; although the bill was finally overruled, it is obvious that France and Germany give priority to their own business interests in China but ignore China's encroachment upon human rights. By selling weapon to China, Europe will help China suppress freedom and infringe upon civil rights of the Hong Kong people, considering that Hong Kong are presently under Chinese occupation (the Chinese armed forces station in Hong Kong territory on a regular basis). The Hong Kong Independence Movement herein appeals to the EU for upholding the arms ban imposed upon China continuously, as the arms ban is essential to the acknowledgement (made by the EU) that China has a notorious track record of human rights infringement upon its own people and Hongkongers.

Is Hong Kong SAR Basic Law a Law of Dictatorship?

Professor Johannes M. M. CHAN, Professor and Dean, Faculty of Law, Hong Kong University, said that the interpretation of the Hong Kong Basic Law by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the Beijing regime seriously undermines the rule of law in Hong Kong, especially in a situation where the Hong Kong Basic Law (the mini-Constitution of Hong Kong) is arbitrarily amended by the Beijing regime at a close door meeting.

Beijing regime is good at manipulating politics. Under the dictatorial rule of Beijing regime, even China's Constitution can be amended at any time, if necessary. Beijing regime fully understands when, and how, to amend the Hong Kong Basic Law.

Unlike the Hong Kong Basic Law that is a social contract and a political contract, a commercial contract does not even entail one signatory's uninvited interpretation of the contract itself and forcing the other signatory to obey the unilateral interpretation.

After April 6, 2004 every Hongkonger questions, 'is the Basic Law the Law of Dictatorship? ' Since the Hong Kong Basic Law is deemed the mini-Constitution of Hong Kong, should Beijing regime have been so careless as to create ambiguities in the Hong Kong Basic Law during the legislation process in the late 1980s? Would Beijing regime have been so foolish that it considered it worth leaving a stigma on the National People's Congress that enacted and passed the Hong Kong Basic Law in the early 1990s?

Given the notorious track record of Beijing regime, we shall not be surprised at the fact that Beijing regime is always willing to give its promises for the sake of expediency but it seldom takes it serious to keep its promises.

Should we Hongkongers give up ourselves and surrender ourselves to bandits, murderers and rapers?

Why the right of independence was enjoyed and exercised by Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and Quebec - because their sovereign motherlands are democratic, liberal countries; in this regard, Singaporeans, Kiwi, and Aussie are lucky indeed;

Why Hong Kong has been denied the right of independence since 1984 - because the sovereign motherland is an authoritarian, barbarian, brutal regime; Hongkongers are ill-fated, but should we Hongkongers give up ourselves and surrender ourselves to bandits, murderers and rapers?
